Transfer A Sirius Esn

Sirius is a subscription-based satellite radio service. To use the service, it is necessary to have a satellite receiver, which must then be hooked up to an audio system, such as a car stereo, so that the radio content can be heard. That receiver must then be registered on a Sirius account so that it can access the satellite network. If an individual with a Sirius account decides to transfer his service to a different Sirius receiver, the Electronic Serial Number (ESN) must be located on the old and new receivers so that the service can be transferred to the new receiver.

Instructions

1. Turn on the Sirius receiver that is registered to your account.

2. Navigate to the menu of your receiver and select the "ESN" option. If you are using a factory-installed Sirius receiver that came with your vehicle, consult your vehicle's documentation for information regarding the location of the ESN.

3. Write down this number and label it "old ESN."

4. Connect your new Sirius receiver, then navigate to the menu and locate the ESN for this receiver.

5. Write down the ESN number and label it "new ESN."

6. Call the Sirius customer service number at 1-888-539-7474. Press "2" at the main menu if you prefer to speak to someone in Spanish.

7. Inform the customer service representative that you wish to transfer the ESNs on your account. You will be prompted for account information, as well as the ESNs for each of your receivers.
