Mount A Tv To A Table Top

You can consolidate your furniture by using a table as your TV stand. Most table tops make efficient TV stands because their sturdy and have a wide base. Storage might become and issue if the table doesn't have enough drawers or multiple shelves. You should always secure your TV to the table top to avoid risking TV tip over, especially if you have small children. According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), approximately 16,300 children five years old or younger were treated for home appliance tip over related injuries.

Instructions

1. Inspect your table top for weak spots and its sturdiness. The table should be sturdy when standing alone without anything on it. If you notice the table is weak or unstable, correct the problem immediately. Weights or braces attached to the table should correct most problems.

2. Lift the TV on the table as far back as you can without the TV hitting the wall. Straps and mounts will be easier to fasten on the back edge of the table top. Have someone help you lift the TV on the table if it's heavy or big.

3. Inspect all cables attached to the back of the TV. Make sure all media devices are properly plugged in.

4. Attach braces or straps to the TV and table top. Different braces and straps are attached in different ways. Some braces might be screwed into the table top, while others might require special glue or tape. Refer to the braces or straps instructions for specific attachment procedures.

5. Test the TVs sturdiness by grabbing the TV with both hands and shaking it slightly. If you notice the TV wobble or the base coming off the stand, you need to secure the TV tighter. The TVs base shouldn't come off the table top, it should stay flush.
