Troubleshoot A Fuji Camera

Fujifilm is a company specializing in the manufacturing of photography and imaging related supplies and devices--most notably, cameras. As of May 2011, Fujifilm's latest camera model is the FinePix X100. The FinePix X100 is a modern digital camera with the physical appearance of a camera from the 1960s, which sets it apart from Fujifilm's other models. If you experience malfunctions with your Fujifilm camera, troubleshoot it to diagnose and solve the problems.

Instructions

Camera Does Not Turn On

1. Ensure that the battery is charged. Remove the battery from the camera and insert it into the supplied battery charger. Plug the charger into a power outlet. The battery should take between three and four hours to fully charge.

2. Ensure that the battery is inserted correctly inside the battery chamber. Insert the battery so that the image of an arrow on it is pointing downwards and facing the front of the camera. Listen for a click when the battery is inserted correctly.

3. Ensure that the batter chamber cover is closed. If it is not, push it down and slide the latch to the right to lock it in place.

4. Ensure that the memory card contacts are not dirty. Turn off the camera and remove the memory card, located in the slot behind the battery in the battery compartment.

5. Wipe the contacts, located along the bottom of the memory card, with a soft, dry cloth.

6. Reinsert the memory card, turn the camera back on, and try taking a photo again.

7. Ensure that there is space left on the memory card. Check this by pressing the "Play" button, located to the left of the screen, and look in the bottom left corner. There should be two numbers there----one indicating the number of photos currently on the memory card, and another indicating the total amount of photos the card can hold. Either insert another memory card or delete some photos if the card is full.

8. Ensure that the camera lens is clean. If the lens appears to have dirt or dust on it, use either a dry cloth or a cloth dampened with a little bit of lens-cleaning solution and gently wipe it.

9. Ensure that you are not too close to the object you are shooting or that you are not too zoomed in. Back up, or zoom out, by pressing the "AF" button, until the object comes into focus.

10. Ensure that there is adequate lighting in the area you are shooting. If you are attempting to take a photo in a dark place, turn on the flash. Do this by pressing the button with the picture of a downward pointing arrow, located on the left side of the command dial, and select "Forced Flash" in the menu.
