Especially when it seems like you spent all night charging it, only to find it dead after just a few hours of use. If you want to keep your cell phone battery alive a little longer, there are a few tricks that you can use to prolong the life of your cell phone.

1. Don't talk as long. It seems very simple, but the more you talk, the more battery power you drain, so keep off your cell unless it's an emergency.
2. Adjust your lighting. Most cell phones allow you to adjust the amount of time that your backlight stays on after use. Set it to the shortest increment possible to save on battery life.
3. Skip the screensaver. If your cell phone has one, you may think that it will prevent the phone's battery from dying, but this couldn't be further from the truth. The animation and motion can actually drain your battery quicker than if it's just in standby mode.
4. Eliminate the extra phone features. Games and wireless browsers drain your battery quickly, so avoid using your cell phone just to pass the time.
5. Don't overcharge your phone. Lithium batteries can develop what's known as a charge memory, which means that you can end up shortening your battery life the more you charge it. So wait for it to die completely before plugging it in for a charge.
