Test Dvd Portables With Tnt

A DVD portable includes its own LCD screen for watching what is played on it. You can test the quality of the LCD screen by attaching a video signal to the line-input of the portable so that the TV picture of a television network, for example, TNT (Turner Network Television) can be used as the viewing example. A video cable is all that is needed in order to test the LCD's visual accuracy for colors, sharpness and contrast.

Instructions

1. Place the DVD portable next to a television set. Insert the power port of the DVD portable's power supply into the power input on the portable. Plug the power cord at the other end of the power supply into a wall outlet for power.

2. Plug the RCA jack of the RCA-to-mini-jack video cable into the video output on the back of the television. In rare cases, the video output will be located on a side panel or in a compartment on the front panel instead. Plug the mini-jack end of the cable into the video input on the back of the DVD portable.

3. Turn the TV on and select a television network, for example, TNT (Turner Network Television). Turn the DVD portable on. Press the "Menu" button on the remote or on the front panel, if one is present. Select "Video," and then "Line-input" from the choices presented on the screen. Press "Menu" again to exit the settings.

4. Watch the TNT television program as it is presented on the DVD portable's LCD screen. Compare and contrast this with watching a DVD movie disc played on the portable to test how good a picture the LCD screen can provide.
