Set Parental Controls On A Dvd Player

Most DVD players come with parental controls that allow parents to block their children from seeing any movies or television programs with offensive language or adult content. The parental control settings are password-protected on the DVD player so that children can't access the content.

Instructions

1. Press "Setup" on your remote control to go to the system settings menu on your TV screen. Use the left or right arrows on your remote to go to the "Preference Page."

2. Scroll down the menu with the up or down arrows until you get to "Parental." Choose this option using the right arrow button on the remote. This will take you to the parental settings menu on the screen.

3. Use the up or down arrows to choose a setting for your DVD player. Hit "OK" to confirm that the DVD player is preset to Level 8 for adults.

4. Change the parental levels whenever you play a new disc. Go back to the "Preference Page" from your remote. Use the down arrow to go to "Parental," and then choose the right arrow again to select the parental option.

5. Choose your rating level from the right side of your TV screen. Using the up or down arrows on your remote, pick 1 for "Kid Safe," 4 for "PG-13," or 6 for "R." Press the "OK" button on your remote to confirm your new setting.

6. Enter a 6-digit password so that children can't access the DVD. Type in any numbers 1 through 9 using the alphanumeric keypad on your remote. Select the "OK" button to confirm your password. Press "Setup" to exit the "Preference Page," and then the "Setup" main menu to start watching your movie.
