Remove The Hum On My Serato Turntable

Whenever you experience hum coming from your turntable that uses Serato Live, there are a number of troubleshooting steps you can take in order to correct the problem. By a process of elimination, you can get down to the root of the humming sound that is being generated by the turntable. You may have to take several steps to find exactly what is causing the hum, so that you can have a clean signal while using Serato Live once again.

Instructions

1. Place your Serato interface as far away as you can from your receiver or amplifier to eliminate interference that can cause 50/60 Hz hum issues. Having the interface set too close will cause the device to overheat and work improperly.

2. Attach grounding wires to both the mixer and the turntables. Connect the wires to a metallic piece of the turntable. Remove the grounding screw connectors on your mixer, then put the U-shaped grounding connector into place and replace each of the two screws.

3. Verify that you have made all of the RCA connections between the mixer and the Serato interface correctly. The red, or right, cable should be connected to the red jack on the mixer and interface, and the white, or left, into the left connectors. Your Serato setup will now be free of the 50/60 grounding loops hum.
