Return A Canon Powershot Digital Camera For Repair

Return a Canon Powershot Digital Camera for Repair

Canon's line of Powershot digital cameras is one of the most popular choices for a consumer-level digital camera, in part because of the cameras' reliability. But if you're noticing problems with your Powershot, it may be time to send it into Canon for repair. Canon has multiple service centers in the United States that can diagnosis, repair and return your Powershot, often in as little as a week. Whether it's a warranty or a paid repair, sending your Powershot in for service by Canon is a simple process.

Instructions

Sending Your Powershot in for Repair

1. Note the serial number and any error code being displayed by your digital camera. Canon's customer service website will ask for this information.

2. Navigate to Canon's repair request website. A direct link is provided in the Resources section of this article.

3. Select "Digital Camera" for the product type and then choose what type of Powershot camera you have on the submenu that loads.

4. Enter the serial number and the date of purchase and click next.

5. Verify whether the warranty information that loads is correct and click accept. If your camera is out of warranty, Canon will provide an estimated repair cost or ask for more information.

6. Enter your address and the technical problems you're experiencing with your camera. Canon uses this information to direct you to the nearest available service center.

7. Enter your billing information. Your credit card will not be charged until Canon receives your camera.

8. Package and ship your camera to Canon's listed service center. For warranty repairs, Canon will pay return shipping. For out-of-warranty repairs, you're responsible for shipping in both directions.
