Use A Speaker As A Lowfrequency Microphone

Rewiring the speaker reverses the signal pocessing to turn it into a mic.

While the bass response may be too much at times, speakers can be rewired to turn into microphones. They are extremely dynamic and only pick up sounds from head on, and can be used to cut out unwanted noise from outside the sound source. Any type of speaker will work for this so long as it works normally. The rewiring will make the speaker turn sound waves into electricity as opposed to electricity into sound waves.

Instructions

1. Cut the speaker wiring to a desired length. Make sure that enough room is left to ensure the speaker has enough slack to move freely. Take the wire splitter and split about 5 inches down each wire at the ends. There will be four ends to the wire.

2. Strip about 1/4 inch off each wire end. Do not break the wiring.

3. Connect the tops of each wire to the contacts that are on the speaker. Connect the other sides of the wire to the microphone connector and attach to the amplifier. Power on the amplifier, and the speaker will be acting as a microphone.
