Los Angeles is famous for its vibrant nightlife. Biker bars in LA are also known as hipster bars or even dive bars. These bars are known for attracting bikers, the working class and LA locals, unlike trendy establishments that cater to a high end clientele. These bars serve cheaper drinks, usually have live rock and roll bands perform several nights a week and have affordable menus.
Saints and Sinners Lodge
Saints and Sinners is one of the most famous LA biker bars. Open from 5:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m., they have a happy hour until 8:00 p.m. that includes $1 off all drinks. Some of the most popular drinks to order include the Blue Eyed Devil, the Hell Fire and the Holy Water, which are all specialties of the house mixed with varying degrees of rum, scotch and gin. This bar is located in the West Hollywood area of LA.
Melody Bar & Grill
The Melody Bar and Grill offers their whole dining menu until 1:30 a.m., which is a plus for late-night patrons. This bar is located in the Westchester neighborhood, close to the Los Angeles airport. This bar is known for being more quiet and darker than several other LA nightspots. Mixed drinks average around $10. Because of the amount of rock stars and other celebrities that hang out here, taking photos in this bar with either cameras or cell phones is not allowed.
Bar 107
Bar 107 is located in downtown LA and is open from 3:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. every night. A big draw for this bar is their jukebox, which plays classic rock, hard rock and heavy metal, and the vintage photo booth tucked into a far back corner. This bar also has a dance floor that is usually packed with bar patrons and the beer of the house is a tall boy Pabst Blue Ribbon served in a can.
The Bigfoot Lodge
The Bigfoot Lodge is a biker bar located in the Los Feliz area of LA. This bar is decorated in a log cabin style, paneled on the inside with real knotty pine wooden logs. Their specialty drinks include the Toasted Marshmallow, the Sasquatch and Smokey's Moonshine. The Bigfoot Lodge also holds events like Bigfoot Bingo and the Knotty Pine Derby.
Biker Bars vs. Biker Clubhouses
Biker bars in LA are bars that tourists and locals can go safely. The term "biker bar" should not be confused with a biker clubhouse. These are located around California, though not in downtown LA, and cater to official members of various California motorcycle gangs. These clubhouses are not open to the public.
