It is no question that to the vast majority, double cassette deck players are outdated, but nostalgia for the very recent past is here to stay. Just like vinyl records, cassettes are creeping their way back into existence--not so much in major retail establishments, but in used record shops and thrift stores. This has prompted a return to dubbing old cassettes on double cassette decks. The technology may seem primitive, but it can be just as confusing as an iPod.

1. Turn on the cassette deck by pressing either the "Power" button or the "On" button.
2. Place a pre-recorded tape in the left cassette deck. Then place a blank cassette in the right cassette deck. Press "Play" on the right deck to find out if the cassette is blank.
3. Press the "Pause" button on the right deck, then press the "Record" and "Pause" buttons down at the same time. A red light should light up just above the right deck. This signifies that the blank cassette is ready for recording.
4. Press the "Pause" button on the left deck, then the "Play" button. This will hold the tape in place until you are ready to start dubbing the tape.
5. Press the "Pause" button again on the right deck, then press the "Pause" button on the left deck to begin recording.
6. When the pre-recorded cassette is finished, the left deck will make a loud click, meaning it has automatically stopped. When that happens press the "Pause" button on the right deck to stop recording.
7. Repeat the steps for each cassette you dub.
