When power supply switching is activated you take efforts to conserve your car's battery. When power supply switching is not working properly, your car battery has a greater chance of being discharged due to the unneeded, but spent energy. This is because most Global Positioning System (GPS) devices continue to utilize energy when still connected to an external power source. Most of the wasted energy will be consumed if your car is parked while the receiver is switched on. You can reactivate power supply switching in most GPS models through the device's menu display.
Instructions
1. Touch the "Energy" icon on the GPS screen display. The "Energy" icon for your model may be in the lower left or right corner of the screen. It is usually identifiable by a battery symbol.
2. Touch the "Off" button to turn the GPS off and switch the power switching supply back on. It may have previously been set to "Cancel."
3. Touch "Cancel" when the GPS symbol turns red if you want to cancel the power switching mode. This is a sign that the power supply has been interrupted and will not switch until you set it.
