Use Kd S890

Automobile audio technology has kept pace with in-home audio systems in terms of enhancements and quality. The JVC KD-S890 CD player combines flexibility with MP3 capability to give the listener high-quality sound at a reasonable price. This auto audio system is fairly easy to use even though it has a multitude of features, such as 18 FM and 6 AM station presets, plays all CD-R and CD-RW discs and has CD text and name recognition. It even has a detachable control panel that can be removed when the automobile is left unattended to discourage theft.


Instructions


1. Press the "Power" button (ON/ATT). Select "Tuner" with the "Select" button on the right hand side of the unit. Press the "FM1, FM2, FM3, AM" button to select a band. Use the "Select" button to select a station. Increase the volume by turning the "Volume" knob clockwise. Decrease the volume by turning the Volume knob counterclockwise.


2. Manually store preset radio station numbers in memory. Select "Tuner," and then select the "Band" desired (FM1, FM2, FM3, AM), then tune to the radio station desired. For example, FM station 100 on the FM1 band. Press "1" and hold it for at least 2 seconds to store the desired radio station into the FM1 band, Slot 1. You can store up 18 FM radio stations into the preset memory in this fashion. Store 1 station for each of the 6 buttons, 6 buttons per FM band and 3 FM bands. You can store 6 AM preset stations in the same manner.


3. Play a CD by inserting it into the loading slot. (If a CD is already in the loading slot, press "CD" to play it.) Press "0" to stop the CD play. Press and hold the upward arrow to fast forward the track, press and hold the downward arrow to reverse the track. Press the upward arrow briefly to move to the beginning of the next track, press the downward arrow briefly to move to the beginning of the current track. Pressing the downward arrow repeatedly will move to the beginning of each of the previous tracks.


4. Play an MP3 by inserting it into the loading slot. If an MP3 is already in the loading slot, press "CD" to play it. Press "0" to stop the MP3 play. Press and hold the upward arrow to fast forward the file, press and hold the downward arrow to reverse the file. Press the upward arrow briefly to move to the beginning of the next file, and press the downward arrow briefly to move to the beginning of the current file. Pressing the downward arrow repeatedly will move to the beginning of each of the previous files.


5. Set the clock by first pressing and holding the "Select" button for more than 2 seconds. Select "Clock H" from the display. Turn the "Select" knob to the desired hour. Select "Clock M" from the display. Turn the "Select" knob to the desired minutes. Press "DISP" (Display) to check the time.
