AT&T sells its GoPhone products in retail stores across the country. Since many GoPhone products aren't purchased in an AT&T Wireless store, it is up to customers to activate the GoPhone themselves. You can activate the Samsung A177 mobile phone online at AT&T's website. You will be required to enter in several numbers that you can find on the Samsung A177 packaging and on a card inside the phone.
Instructions
1. Slide the battery cover off of the Samsung A177. To slide off, push the cover down from the top of the phone. Remove the battery and remove the SIM card from the SIM card socket beside the battery bay.
2. Write down the four-digit ICCID number on the SIM card.
3. Insert the SIM card back into the slot with the gold contacts facing down. Slide the battery back into place until it clicks. Slide the battery cover back on.
4. Go to the AT&T activations webpage (see Resources). Select "Pay as you go" under GoPhone. Click "Next."
5. Type the four-digit ICCID into the corresponding SIM field.
6. Scratch the PIN on the Samsung A177 packaging. The packing also contains the IMEI number.
7. Type the PIN and IMEI numbers into the corresponding fields. Follow any additional prompts to activate the Samsung A177.
