Troubleshoot The Kodak Dc210

The Kodak DC210 is a 1-megapixel camera that was released in 1998. One of the first models to make transferring images to a computer quick and simple, the DC210 has a basic and user-friendly software setup. It runs on AA batteries. Even though the camera has a simple setup, you may be faced with a couple of issues that require a quick troubleshoot to fix.

Instructions

Camera Operation Solutions

1. Remove the batteries from the camera.

2. Clean the inside of the camera's battery component with a dry cloth. Remove all dirt and dust buildup.

3. Insert new AA batteries.

4. Check that the memory card being used is ATA-compatible. Only ATA-compatible memory cards can be used with the Kodak DC210.

Operating the Camera

5. Turn on the camera.

6. Disconnect the USB cable from the camera.

7. Turn the mode dial on the back of the camera to the "Capture" option.

8. Let the "Ready" light stop blinking before attempting to take another picture. While the light is blinking the camera is processing the last image you took.

9. Turn the flash on when the surroundings are dark or you are shooting at night. Turn the flash off when you are in sunlight or in surroundings with plenty of light. This prevents images from becoming too bright or too dark.

10. Don't remove the memory card while the camera is switched on. This might damage any images that are stored on it.

11. Delete images that have been transferred to a computer or those that are unwanted. This will free space for more images to be stored. You won't be able to save any photos if the memory card is full.

Connecting the Camera to a Computer

12. Set the mode dial on the back of the camera to "Connect."

13. Plug the large end of the USB cable into a free USB port on your computer. Open USB port door on the side of the camera. Insert the smaller end of the USB cable into the port on the camera.

14. Turn on the camera. The "AutoPlay" list will appear. Click Kodak DC210 to open the device software and transfer images to the computer.

15. Set your monitor settings to view pictures from the camera. Double-click "My Computer." Double-click "Control Panel." Double-click the "Display" icon under the "Settings" tab. Under the "Color Palette" section, select the highest setting possible: 256, High (16-bit) or True (32-bit) color. Click "OK."
