Xd Memory Cards & Data Recovery

The xD flash memory card format stores digital images, video and audio. It is compatible with certain digital cameras, music players and cellular phones. You can use file recovery software to restore files deleted from an xD card.

Function

Developed by Fujifilm and Olympus, the xD card format uses rewritable flash memory to store digital information. XD cards range in size from 16MB up to a maximum of 2GB in capacity. You can erase individual files or format the entire card to free up space on an xD card when it is full.

Recovery

You can use data recovery software to restore accidentally deleted files from an xD memory card. Several software developers offer data recovery titles designed specifically for use with removable flash memory cards, including Rescue Pro, MediaRecovery Image Recovery Software and EaseUs' Free xD Card Data Recovery Software.

Considerations

Data recovery programs work by analyzing the xD memory card and restoring any deleted files that still reside in the unused space on the disk. Use data recovery software immediately after deleting a file to improve your chances of restoring it.
