Canon's PowerShot A95 compact digital camera is designed with an LCD screen that flips and tilts 180 degrees for previewing images. The screen can face forward to aid a photographer wanting to put himself in the picture. The camera can operate as a simple point-and-shoot camera or give the user full manual control of the image. The camera can also shoot video.
Instructions
1. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the camera by sliding the release latch away from the camera body. Insert four AA batteries. Close the compartment door.
2. Open the memory card compartment on the right side of the camera. Insert the CF memory card with the front of the card facing toward the back of the camera. Close the compartment door.
3. Open the LCD screen by pulling the screen out toward the left side of the camera. Tilt the screen at the best angle for viewing.
4. Turn on the camera. If this is the first time you have used the camera, follow the instructions on the LCD screen for setting the default date, time and language. Use the large directional button on the back of the camera, as well as the "Set" button, to make your choices.
5. Put the camera in "Shooting" mode using the switch marked with a camera icon and an arrow. The camera indicates "Shooting" mode. The arrow indicated "Playback" mode for previewing pictures.
6. Select a photography mode using the "Shooting Mode" dial on top of the camera. Choose "Auto" to allow the camera to choose the best settings based on the lighting conditions.
7. Look through the viewfinder or use the LCD screen to frame your picture. Adjust the zoom lens using the "Zoom Lever" around the shutter button. Push from side to side to extend or retract the lens.
8. Press the shutter button partially down to engage the autofocus.
9. Press the shutter button again, all the way down, to take the picture.
10. Use the mode switch to put the camera in "Preview" mode. See the pictures you have taken on the LCD screen. Use the directional buttons to scroll through the images.
11. Attach the camera to a computer with a USB cable to download your pictures for printing or storage.
