Block Incoming Cell Texts

In a world that thrives on technology, it is not surprising that people take advantage of any means of communication to push their products or services. If you are receiving unwanted text messages, you can do something about it. It is a simple task, but one that varies by service providers.

Instructions

1. Call your cell phone provider and tell a representative that you wish to stop receiving text messages from certain numbers. Your provider will walk you through the steps necessary to set up this option.

2. If your provider is AT&T, dial 611 from your cell phone to request this option. The company's automated system will take you through a series of prompts to turn off incoming text messages and outgoing messages. Sprint also has this feature available to its customers. You must call customer service at 888-211-4727 to activate a block on your text messages.

3. Until those services are activated and if you're still receiving spam text messages from a business, reply to the unwanted text and type "unsubscribe." This should make the texts stop from this organization.
