2. Download the technical manual you need. It's a good idea to print out a hard copy of the tech manual for easy reference.
3. Troubleshoot the DVD player using the diagnostics section of your tech manual. There should be a section devoted to the specific problem in your manual.
4. Figure out which part is malfunctioning by using the diagnostic manual. You may not even have to open the case to your DVD player to figure out what's wrong with it.
5. Write down the parts numbers that you need. Be sure to do this accurately, making note of such things as order of letters and numbers and even caps sensitive letters.
6. Shop around for the best price on the parts you need. If you have a local electronics supply store, be sure to compare the price with that of an online supplier.
