Connect A Dell Inspiron 1525 To A Tv

Dell's Inspiron 1525 is a laptop computer with a 15.4-inch LCD display and a variety of ports for hooking up peripherals. The S-video jack on the rear edge of the Inspiron 1525 provides a direct connection to TV sets, so you can view your work, Web content or videos on the larger screen. Use a standard S-video cable to connect the two, which takes only a few seconds. The Inspiron's function keys control video output, letting you switch from the laptop display to the TV at will.

Instructions

1. Turn the plug on one end of the S-video cable to line up the pins inside with the holes in the round socket on the rear edge of the Inspiron 1525. Push the plug into the port as far as it will go.

2. Plug in the opposite end of the S-video cable to the corresponding jack on the rear of your TV.

3. Log on to your Inspiron 1525 normally, then press the "F8" and "Fn" keys simultaneously. This turns off your Inspiron display and sends the video signal to your television.

4. Press the input/video button on the TV's remote control until the Inspiron screen appears on the set.
