Program Uniden Trunk Tracking Scanners

The Uniden company produces emergency scanners, including a line with technology called trunk tracking that will allow you to listen in to multiple conversations that occur on one frequency. You can program these scanners with multiple emergency frequencies, including fire department, air control and police channels, to help you stay up to date during emergency situations. The instructions to program these frequencies into your scanner are easy to follow and remember to add channels throughout the life of the device.

Instructions

1. Press the "Power" button to turn on your Uniden trunk tracking scanner. Press the "Man" button to enter programming mode. Enter in the channel number that you want to program a frequency to by pressing the number on the keypad on the right side of the device. You can also move through channels with the up and down arrows on the device. The number of channels you can program will depend on the model of your scanner. Press the "Man" button again to move on.

2. Enter the first frequency you want to program into the channel you have just selected using the number pad. You can find a list of frequencies for your area from several sources, including RadioReference.com (see Resources). Enter in each number without holding them down and be sure to include the decimal point in the correct spot. Press "E" when finished to save the frequency.

3. Re-enter a new frequency if you hear a loud beeping noise. This means the channel you have entered is out of the range of your scanner. When finished with the first channel, repeat the programming process using a new channel and frequency. When finished, press the "Scan" button to begin searching through your new frequencies.
