Fit A Cd Changer

The addition of a CD changer to your car audio system gives you access to multiple CDs with a push of a button. You only need to use the changer when you want to add or remove CDs, so you can install the changer just about anywhere you can fit it in your vehicle. You will want to find a location for the changer before you install it in your system and then use these steps to make sure the changer fits.

Instructions

1. Measure the length, width and depth of the changer and add an inch to each side. The extra inch will provide room to allow the changer to breathe and keep it from overheating.

2. Locate the plugs that are going into the changer. Some changers have inputs on the back and some have inputs on the side. Measure how far the plugs extend from the changer and add an extra inch for room. If you are using mounting brackets to mount your changer, include the size of each bracket in your measurements.

3. Confirm that the location where you are mounting the changer meets the measurements you have taken.

4. Place the changer in the mounting location and verify it will physically fit. Don't secure the changer, just hold it. Make sure you have room to open and close the changer and can remove the CD magazine in the changer with ease. Check the cables running to the changer and make sure they fit without getting bent or pinched.
