Behringer 3102 Eq & Humidity Effects

Close of eight frequency bands of the Behringer FBQ3102.

The Behringer FBQ3102 is a 31-band dual graphic equalizer with LED level indicators. Due to the LED indicators, this professional graphic equalizer also serves as a spectrum analyzer. This allows the sound mixer or engineer to readily see critical frequency overloads and make instant adjustments to adjust those frequencies out of an overload state. The FBQ3102 allows for separate equalization of both sides of a stereo audio mix in both live and studio applications.

FBQ

The FBQ designation is indicative of Behringer's Feedback Detection System. This is an innovative part of Behringer value and technology, adding the instant ability to adjust for frequency overloads or dips with precise graphic equalization. Over- or under-saturation of a specific frequency band can be adjusted on the fly using the LED indicators as a visual reference while raising or lowering the faders in each of the 31 frequency bands.

Graphic Equalization

Graphic equalization has always been the means to find tune an audio mix. The more bands that the audible frequency range of 20 to 20,000 Hz can be divided into, the more exact fine tuning can occur. 31 bands over the audio spectrum allows for minuscule segments to be precisely equalized to any response curve. The faders serve to also present a visual representation of the response curve.

Sweepable High and Low Cut Filters

The Behringer FBQ3102 offers sweepable high and low cut filters to further adjust the frequency range that you work with. The low cut filter is adjustable between 10 and 400 Hz, while the high cut filter is adjustable between 2.5 and 30 kHz. At the extreme ranges of filtering, both 10 and 30 kHz allow all signals to pass through. These controls can be especially valuable in outdoor sound mixing environments.

Humidity Effects

Humidity, temperature, wind, and time of day are all factors that affect sound reproduction in a live environment. Different climatic conditions affect and alter sound waves in different ways. Adjusting for these anomalies quickly and precisely minimizes these idiosyncrasies for the listening audience. A Behringer FBQ3102 patched into the main mix going to the audience can provide the best control over weather conditions.
