Speedlite 430EX
Many cameras already have a built-in flash attached to them. When taking photography from a hobby to a more professional level, it helps to invest in a few extras. One helpful tool is a reliable external flash that can attach to your camera easily or act as a wireless flash distant from the shutter. The Canon Speedlite 430EX is one of the external flashes available on the market that can help meet your photography needs.
Instructions
1. Find the battery cover and open it. This flash requires four AA batteries; insert them making sure the (+) and (-) ends are correct. It's best to use the same quality, brand and type of batteries together.
2. Be sure the Speedlite is turned off. Loosen the locking ring and place it on the camera's hot shoe. Tighten the locking ring, making sure the flash is attached securely to the camera. Look for the locking mechanism on your camera and be sure it works.
3. Turn the flash on. Wait for the flash charge to recycle and the red "Ready" light to come on. Put the Speedlite on the "ETTL" setting to activate fully automatic flash. You are ready to point your camera and shoot.
4. The Speedlite 430EX can also be used as a wireless flash. To do so, switch the wireless setting to "Slave" and adjust your camera accordingly. Set the right channels and slave IDs before clicking the shutter to avoid any problems.
