Use Wired Lavalier Mics

Lavalier mics are small microphones that improve the audio while recording video. They are especially important to have if you are recording two people speaking. The audio is recorded onto the camera you are filming with, so you don't have to sync the sound with the video later.

Instructions

1. Take the top of your microphone and slide it through the bottom of the tie clip, until the tie clip snaps into place.

2. Slide the microphone through the small opening of the windscreen until the windscreen snaps into place.

3. Use the tie clip to attach your microphone to your shirt. place it 3 to 6 inches below your collar. Make sure your hair and clothes won't be rubbing against the microphone.

4. Look at the mute/on switch on your preamplifier (the black box that came with your mic set) and switch it to mute.

5. Find the battery compartment on your preamplifier. Press down on "open" and open the battery compartment door. Put in a fresh battery, then close the battery compartment.

6. Attach the XLR cable from the preamplifier to the audio device opening on the camera.

7. Plug the microphone into the miniature opening on the preamplifier.
