Download Songs From The Internet To A Flash Drive

Download Songs From the Internet to a Flash Drive

It can be difficult to keep track of perhaps thousands of songs and media files stored in your computer, and it's just as important to have them backed up someplace other than your media library. If you want to download music online and make sure it's backed up immediately, a USB Flash drive is a great way to do so. Light and compact, Flash drives plug directly into your computer and can store content such as music, text and video. They are easy to use and convenient.

Instructions

Download Songs from the Internet to a Flash Drive

1. Access the main menu on your computer and open your media library (iTunes, Windows Media) by clicking on the desktop icon.

2. Open the music store in your player. A link to the iTunes store is located in the sidebar of your iTunes menu. Once you click the link, your computer will access the Internet. You can access the Windows Media store from its main menu.

3. Select the songs you want to buy and click "Download". Wait for the MP3 to be loaded into the media library.

4. Plug your Flash drive into the USB port on the side of your computer. Wait for the Flash icon to appear on your desktop.

5. Highlight your newly downloaded song in the media library. Click and drag it to the Flash drive icon and drop it in.

6. Click the Flash drive icon to open it and verify that your song is stored. It should be listed as an MP3 file. You can fill the Flash drive with as many songs as it will hold. If you intend to store a lot of songs on a Flash drive, it is recommended you buy one with a lot of memory. Flash drives generally come in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB sizes and are less than $50.
