Install A Remanufactured Radio In A 1998 Lincoln Continental

If the radio in your Lincoln has bit the dust, you can save money by buying a remanufactured radio and installing it yourself. There's no special wiring involved--it's a plug-and-play operation. The only real work is taking out the old radio, which is a quick job for the home handyman.

Instructions

1. Pry around the edges of the plastic panel that surrounds the receiver, using a panel tool. Pull the panel off when the retaining clips are loose, and disconnect the temperature sensor plug from the back.

2. Remove the four 7 mm screws from the edges of the radio--two on each side. Pull the radio out, disconnect the antenna and antenna plug and remove the radio.

3. Plug the wiring harness and antenna plug into the back of your refurbished radio. Slide the radio into the dash cavity and test operation.

4. Screw the 7 mm screws into place and place the receiver trim panel back on. Be sure to reconnect the temperature sensor first.
