Make Video From Pictures On Your Computer

If you have a selection of pictures, perhaps from a holiday or outing, you may wish to put them in a sequence to playback in a slide show video. Windows Live Movie Maker can be used to create your slide show from individual pictures on your PC.


Instructions


Basics


1. Click the "Start" button. Click "All Programs" and select "Windows Live Movie Maker."


2. Select the "Home" tab and click "Add Videos and Photos." Browse to the folder where your pictures are stored and hold down "Ctrl" and click each photo to select it. Click "Open."


3. Click and drag each photo thumbnail to arrange the order. Click "Play" to preview your video.


4. Select a photo thumbnail and click "Edit." In the "Duration" box, type a value to determine to amount of seconds the picture appears for.


Additional Features


5. Locate the "Automovie Themes" section. Here, you are provided with a selection of movie presets -- this will arrange your slideshow, inserting captions, transitions and effects based on the preset chosen.


6. Locate the "Add" section in the "Home" tab. Here you will find options to add a title, credits and captions to the project. Click one of these options to add, type the text in the provided box, adjust the visual properites using the "Text Tools" above and click elsewhere on the interface to save. Click the text thumbnail and drag it to change the point at which it appears.


7. Click "Add Music" if you wish to insert music into your slideshow. Browse for a music file, select it and click "Open."


8. Select the "Animations" tab. Here, you can select from a range of transitions and effects. Select one of your uploaded pictures and click one of the "Transitions" or "Pan and Zoom" effects to apply it.


9. Click "Save Movie" and select "For Computer" from the drop down list. Browse for a save location and click "Save."
