Increase The Frame Rate On A Digital Camera

Increase the Frame Rate on a Digital Camera

Film movie cameras often change the frame rate in order to obtain smooth fast and slow motion shots. Slow motion shots are recording with more frames per second while fast motion shots use fewer frames per second. Film cameras also have slightly fewer frames per second than video. Although most home based video cameras do not have this function installed (you can adjust the speed with a video editing system), you can adjust the frame rate slightly so your digital video cameras has the same frame rate as a film camera.

Instructions

1. Power on the video camera. Set the video camera to the record mode but press the "Menu" button on the device.

2. Select the video capture options from the menu (the exact phrasing for the selection may change from make and model of camera).

3. Chose "Frame Rate" and a few different frame rate options are presented to you. 30 frames per second is used by video cameras while 24 frames per second is used by film cameras.

4. Select the frame rate you want and press "OK." The frame rate now changes on your video camera. To change the frame rate back return to the "Frame Rate" option and select the video frame rate
