Scan Something Onto Your Computer From An Hp Office Jet 6310

In order to scan to the computer, the USB cable needs to be plugged in.

The HP Office Jet 6310 is one of Hewlett Packard's All-In-One printers. The printer not only can print documents, it can also scan and make copies. The process of using the scanner to save an image or document to the attached computer's hard drive is a simple process. You can do the actual scan on the printer's control panel, but any edits you choose to make to the scan are done on the computer.

Instructions

1. Turn on the Office Jet 6310 and the attached computer. Start up the computer's operating system. Check the USB cable between the printer and the computer to make sure it is securely attached to both devices.

2. Load the document to be scanned. You can either lift the cover of the 6310 and place the document face down on the scanning glass, or if it is a sheet of paper, you can load it face up in the document feeder on the top of the machine.

3. Press the "Scan To" button on the printer's control panel. Press the arrow buttons until the attached computer is highlighted on the printer's display.

4. The scanner's software will automatically open on the computer. Make any edits you want to the scanned document, then click "Accept" to save the scan to your computer's hard drive.
