Troubleshoot A Ge A730 Camera That Will Not Turn On

The GE A730 is a digital camera whose features include 7.0 megapixel resolution, 3x optical zoom and point and shoot. The camera is powered by 2 AA alkaline batteries. If the camera will not turn on, it's likely the batteries are dead and need to be replaced. Troubleshooting will help you narrow down the problem.

Instructions

1. Slide the GE A730 battery cover to the right. Once it has slid as far as it can go, lift the cover upward.

2. Tilt the camera downward, so the batteries slide out of the camera.

3. Insert two new AA batteries into the battery housing unit. Follow the +/- directions on the inside of the battery cover for proper battery placement.

4. Push the battery cover downward and slide to the left until the cover is closed.

5. Press the "Power" button on the top of the camera. The camera should turn on. If the camera does not turn on, continue troubleshooting.

6. Insert the USB cable into the slot on the side of the camera and the slot on a computer. Turn the computer on. Turn the camera on. If the camera turns on with power from the computer, it's likely the battery housing unit is damaged and may need to be replaced. If the camera will not power on when being powered with new batteries or a USB cord, the camera should be taken to a camera repair shop for further troubleshooting or be replaced.
