Use The Zoom Lens On A Nikon N80

A zoom lens is a good tool in which to get close and personal with long distance subjects to shoot.


The Nikon N80 is a professional camera that includes a detachable lens and built-in low power flash. You add different types of lenses to the camera, including a lens specific for long distance zooming. The Nikon N80 allows you to manually focus and zoom to get the clearest picture that you want. In order to properly use the lens to focus and zoom you must know attach the lens to the camera for the first time.


Instructions


1. Use a lens that is compatible with the Nikon N80, such as a D or G type of AF Nikkor lens. Refer to your camera's user manual for a detailed list of lens types that are not compatible.


2. Turn the power switch to the "OFF" position on the right side of the camera. Place the detachable lens over the front of the camera into the mount so that indexes on the camera and lens align. You should also feel the lens slightly snap into place.


3. Twist the lens gently counterclockwise until it locks into place and the lens will be fully attached.


4. Move the aperture setting to the minimum number on the dial at the bottom of the lens if you're using a CPU lens. Turn the power switch to the "ON" position.


5. Turn the mode selector dial on the bottom left side of camera to the "M" position, for manual mode.


6. Look through the viewfinder on your Nikon N80 and rotate the thick outer portion of the lens to the left or right to zoom and manually focus the camera.
