Iphone 2g Vs Iphone 3g

The iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G are the first two generations of the iPhone, a smartphone manufactured and sold by Apple. The 2G was released in 2007 and is currently discontinued, while the 3G, released in 2008, is still available.


Phone Network


The iPhone 2G and 3G are named after the phone networks they operate in. Both operate as quad-band phones within the 2G network. The 3G, however, also operates as a tri-band phone within the 3G network.


Size and Display


Both phones have 3.5-inch thin-film transistor capacitive touchscreens with the ability to display 16 million colors at 320 by 480 pixels.


Sound and Memory


The iPhone 2G and 3G have vibration capabilities as well as the ability to play and download polyphonic and MP3 ringtones. While 2G comes with 4, 8 or 16 GB of internal memory, the 3G come with 8 or 16 GB, plus 128 MB RAM.


Battery


Both phones use lithium-ion batteries, with the 3G having longer stand-by and talk times than the 2G.


Other Features


Other features include a camera; Bluetooth and WLAN capabilities; USB ports; audio/video players; and the ability to send and receive text messages, e-mail, pictures, and instant messaging. The 3G has additional GPS support.
