Panasonic Palmcorder Problems

Panasonic Palmcorders are hand-held camcorders that record on multiple formats. Like most electronics, Palmcorders can develop problems over time either because of defects or wear and tear. Some problems are more common than others.

Problems

Faulty menu system, short battery life and distorted low-light images are common problems with the Palmcorders. Each problem disrupts the usage of the camcorder in a variety of ways. The problems can cause the wrong media to be deleted and stop footage from being recorded at the wrong time.

Causes

Sensitive touch panels result in a faulty menu system that can cause the wrong option to be selected when navigating the menu. Cold weather can lead to short battery life as well as defective battery memory. A small image sensor that does not accept enough light can give rise to low-light images.

Solutions

Calibrate the touch screen to adjust its sensitivity and get better navigation. Replace the battery and allow it to drain completely before recharging it to avoid creating a short memory issue. Attach a light to the Palmcorder when shooting in low light.
