Turn A 4g Signal Into Wifi

The T-Mobile myTouch 4G smart phone lets users enable Wi-Fi and use their cellular data connection to connect other devices to the Internet. Once the connection is enabled, others can join with the myTouch 4G as if it were a Wi-Fi hotspot. This hotspot capability is built into the phone's Android operating system. All the user needs to do is set up the Wi-Fi network through the phone's menus.

Instructions

1. Tap the "Menu" icon to open the main menu on the phone.

2. Tap the "Settings" icon to open the Settings menu.

3. Tap "Wireless & networks," then tap "Portable Wi-Fi hotspots settings."

4. Type the name of your wireless network in the "Router name (SSID)" field, or you can leave it alone to use the default name.

5. Tap the security option you wish to use. If you select "None," you won't need to enter a passkey on the devices you want to connect, but other people could connect and use your phone's Internet connection without your knowledge. If you select another type of security, type in a passkey. Your devices will prompt you for the passkey the first time they connect.

6. Tap "Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot" to turn on the Wi-Fi connection.
