Set The Date On A Sony Handycam

It's easy to set the time on your Sony Handycam.


The Sony Handycam contains a date and time feature that enables you to time stamp videos as well as still photos. The feature is accessible at any time via the Settings menu and you can set the camcorder's date to any year up to 2037. You don't need any special tools to set your Sony Handycam's date and time and you don't need to connect your camcorder to your computer to complete the task.


Instructions


1. Open your Sony Handycam's LCD screen and press and hold the camcorder's green Power button. Slide the switch underneath the Power button in the direction of the arrow until you reach "Movie" and its movie strip icon illuminates.


2. Press the "Home" button, and then tap "Settings." Tap "Clock/Lang," and then "Clock Set." Use Sony Handycam's up and down keys to select your desired geographical area, and then tap "Next."


3. Tap "DST SET" or "SUMMERTIME" to select the time setting you want. Tap "Next."


4. Use your camera's up and down keys to set the year next to "Y." Press the right arrow key to move to the month field next to "M." Use Sony Handycam's up and down keys to set the month.


5. Press the right arrow key to move to the day field next to "D." Use your camera's up and down keys to set the day. Press the right arrow key to move to the hour field next to the ":" mark. Use your Sony Handycam's up and down keys to set the hour.


6. Press the right arrow key to move to the minute field next to "AM." Use your camera's up and down keys to set the minutes. Press the right arrow key to move to the "AM" field. Use your Sony Handycam's up and down keys to set the correct time period.


7. Touch "OK" to save the time setting.
