My Magellan Maestro 4210 Won'T Start

Having GPS navigation in your car is a convenient way to move around town and travel to new destinations. The Magellan Maestro 4210 is an ultra thin, dashboard-mountable GPS unit that features a 4.3-inch touchscreen. It also comes loaded with 6 million points of interests as well as AAA TourBook to help you get to your destination. The device can run off of battery power or through a 12-volt power adapter.

Instructions

1. Charge the battery. If your Magellan won't start, the battery is most likely dead. Plug in the AC power adapter and plug the Magellan into a wall outlet to charge it. It takes about six hours to fully charge the device.

2. Connect it to a cigarette lighter. With the included 12-volt adapter, you can connect the 4210 to a 12-volt cigarette lighter to use it while driving without wasting battery power. If there is power to the cigarette lighter, the 4210 will automatically turn on. For some cars, you must have the engine running for there to be power to the cigarette lighter.

3. Check that the cigarette lighter is operational. If the outlet is damaged or a fuse has blown, the cigarette lighter will have no power and not be able to power the 4210. Try plugging in another device to see if it works.

4. Replace the damaged fuse. If the lighter has blown a fuse, you can replace it with a new one. Refer to your car's owner's manual for the location of the fuse box and information on which fuse powers the cigarette lighter.

5. Send in your Magellan for repair. If your power outlet is operational, your Magellan device may have malfunctioned and be in need of repair. You can send it in for repairs if it is still under warranty or purchase a new device at a discounted cost if it is out of warranty.
