Troubleshoot A Dscv1 Sony Camera

You may risk missing out on capturing memorable events with your Sony camera if it malfunctions and requires troubleshooting. Digital cameras are stable electronics that can malfunction because of lack of knowledge of the device. Extra components, like external wires or batteries, may cause the device to malfunction. Basic troubleshooting steps can be taken to rectify minor issues with the device. If your troubleshooting leads to unresolved issues of the camera, return it to your retailer.

Instructions

1. Make sure your camera is turned off when attempting to charge the battery if you are having battery issues. Make sure you install the battery pack while pushing the eject lever down and installing the battery pack through the front edge. If the charge light flashes while charging a battery pack, that means you did not install the battery pack correctly. Check the AC adapter to ensure that it is firmly connected to the camera. Replace the battery pack if a fully charged battery pack is not completely charging, based on the indication light on your camera.

2. Set the mode to playback (arrow facing to the right) if you are having issues with your camera reviewing images. Your camera will not play back image files if you copy them from your computer's hard disk and change the name of the folder.

3. Turn your camera on if your computer does not recognize the camera. Use an AC adapter if the batteries are too low, and use only the supplied USB cable that Sony provided to connect your camera to the computer. If you cannot copy images to your computer, make sure you are connected via the proper USB cable and AC adapter.

4. Insert the memory stick from the right side if you have issues installing your memory stick. Attempting to install the memory stick on the left side won't work because it will not fit. Leave adequate memory on the memory stick if you are having issues recording to the memory stick.

5. Reset the camera to its factory settings as a final attempt at troubleshooting the camera. Disconnect all cords from the camera and turn the camera off. Using a pointed object, like a gem clip, press the reset button for several seconds. The reset button is on the bottom of the camera. Turn the camera back on.
