Turn On Assistive Technology On A Verizon Htc

Assistive technology features such as TTY and voice commands are becoming popular on many mobile phones. Several Verizon HTC phones have the option to enable TTY and voice command service. TTY allows individuals with hearing impairments to type messages, which will then be transmitted by voice. And voice commands help visually impaired individuals send messages, make calls and search the Internet by saying a simple command to their phone.

Instructions

TTY

1. Press the "Menu" button followed by "Settings."

2. Select the option "Call Settings."

3. Select the option "Enable TTY."

Voice Commands

4. Press the "Menu" key and then select "Voice Dialer." In addition, you can tap the microphone icon or the search key to bring up the voice commands menu.

5. Wait for the application to say or read "Listening."

6. Speak the function that you want to accomplish clearly. (Example: "Call Bob" to make a call or "Search for smart phones" to perform an Internet search.)

7. Tap "OK" to confirm your decision.
