With the Aiwa NSX-A959, you can listen to music from the radio, CD or cassette, as well as record music onto a cassette. However, it can be frustrating if something is not working correctly. Instead of finding someone to make repairs, save time and money by doing it yourself.
Instructions
1. Reconnect the speakers if there is no sound or only sound coming through one speaker. Insert the two blue cords attached to the speakers into the "Speakers High Freq" slots on the back of the stereo system. Take the white-striped cords attached to the speakers and insert them into the "Speakers Low Freq R +" and "Speakers Low Freq L +" slots. Take the black-striped cords attached to the speakers and insert them into the "Speakers Low Freq R --" and "Speakers Low Freq L --" slots. Sound should now come out of both speakers.
2. Reconnect the AM and FM antennas if there is only static coming from the radio. Insert the AM antenna wires into the two "AM Loop" slots and insert the FM wires into the two "FM 75" slots. All slots are located on the back on the stereo system and, when correctly connected, radio stations should come in clearly.
3. Clean the cassette decks if they are not operating properly. Wet a cotton swab with cleaning fluid or denatured alcohol and rub it along the playback heads and pinch rollers located in the two cassette decks. This will remove any dirt interfering with the operation of the cassette decks.
4. Wipe the CD with a CD cleaning cloth to make sure that it is not the cause of the problem with the stereo system. It is possible that the CD became dirty, causing a malfunction when trying to play it on the system. If cleaning the CD fixes the problem, no repair of the stereo system is needed.
5. Clear the system's memory by pressing the "Power" button to turn it off. Wait several seconds and then, at the same time, press the "Power" and "Stop" buttons. This repairs any problems with the stereo system's digital display.
