There may be an occasion when you play a song or a CD for a friend and she absolutely loves the song or the disk. There are two easy ways to share the music with your friend without giving her your disk. Doing this will allow her to enjoy the music whenever and wherever she pleases.
Instructions
Burn a CD
1. Insert the music CD into a computer that has a CD burner. After a moment the default music player will load (typically either iTunes or Windows Media Player) and the contents of the CD will appear as a list.
2. Select the songs you want to copy by checking the box next to their names and have the computer rip (copy) the contents of the CD onto the computer. Do this by clicking the "Import" button that will appear either on the main window of the media player or on the "File" menu. This process will take a few minutes.
3. Insert the blank disk into the CD burner. Select the songs you just ripped from the music CD. Click "Burn Disk." The songs will be placed onto the new CD (this also will take a few minutes). The disk will eject once the songs have been burned to it. You can now give the exact copy of the music to your friend.
Share Music with an MP3 player
4. Import the music from the music CD onto the computer via the same method explained above.
5. Attach an MP3 player to the computer (typically done through the USB port). The computer will detect the device and it will eventually be displayed inside the media player.
6. Open the device. The songs already on the MP3 player will be displayed. Select the play list created when the music CD was ripped onto the computer and import it onto the MP3 player. This can typically be done by checking the box next to the play list and click "Sync." This will sync the new audio music onto the MP3 player. Do not disconnect the MP3 player until the media player states the sync has completed.
7. Take the MP3 player to your friend's computer and plug it into the computer. The player will be detected as as "New" player. You will be asked if you would like to sync the device with the computer. Click "Yes" and the device will be synced, which will import the music from the device onto the computer. This includes the play list of the music CD. Your friend will now be able to listen to the music on his computer, play the songs on his MP3 player, of burn his own CD.
