Let's take a look at use the Xilisoft DVD Ripper to rip a DVD and convert the video into two different formats, playable on the PS3 and Ipod Classic respectively.

Instructions

1. Open the Xilisoft DVD Ripper on your desktop.

2. Place your source DVD disc in your DVD-ROM drive.

3. Select "File" and then "Open DVD" from the main screen of the Xilisoft DVD Ripper.

Selecting the DVD folder will allow you to pick and choose which chapters you want to rip and in what order to rip them. To achieve this, simply click on the file or files that you wish to convert and then click on the "Profile" drop-down window. Choose one of the preset profiles---in this case, PS3 video. Once complete, select the "Add Profile" button and you will be able to select a second output video format. In this case we will choose the iPod classic video format.

6. Select your output folder. This is where your new converted videos will be copied to.

7. Click the "Start Ripping" button to begin the ripping and video conversion process. Depending on the speed of your computer and the number of different formats you are converting to, the process can take up to several hours to complete.
