Change The Picture Size On A Canon S5

Change the Picture Size on a Canon S5

Canon is known for their digital cameras, and one of their most popular lines is the PowerShot S series. The S5 IS offers 12 times optical zoom and is equipped with Canon's well-known DIGIC III image processor.

Canon cameras are automatically defaulted to the highest picture size and quality setting. This gives the user the maximum effect of the camera's ability. However, the larger the picture size, the more space it takes up on a memory card and computer. You may want to change the picture size to get more pictures to fit on your memory card; Canon makes this process simple.

Instructions

1. Turn the Canon S5 on and turn the function dial to "Auto".

2. Click the "Func" button, located on the back of the camera. This will bring up a menu to change picture settings.

3. Use the arrows to scroll down to the button function; there will be a icon that says "L, M, S" depending on the setting you are currently using. Once you scroll to that icon, it will bring up the available picture sizes and settings.

4. Scroll left or right to view the picture sizes available. Select the picture size you prefer and press "Set." Your picture size has now been changed.
