Instructions
1. Get a mobile phone tracking service. A few that you might consider are Accutracking.com, TrackTheWorld.com, or Mologogo.com. These are inexpensive services that will turn any cell phone that can connect with the Global Positioning System into a tracking device. Once you are at the website, check to see if your phone is compatible. Most Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Boost and Nextel phones work on this system. If you do not have a compatible phone, you can purchase one from the service provider's website with the software pre-installed and configured.
2. Once you've determined that your phone is compatible, download and install the software. You will need to configure your phone by following the directions provided on the websites.
3. Register on the site. Depending on which service you go with, the cost will range from free (Mologogo.com) up to $9.99 per month as of 2009. There are no contracts and you can discontinue your service at anytime. If you discontinue your phone, it will continue to transmit data for 30 days. If you decide to sign up again, you will be able to retrieve this data.
4. Track your phone. Once your phone is set up, you will be able to track it from any computer or Internet-enabled phone by logging into the Accutracking.com. You will be able to track the phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week anywhere in the world as long as the phone has a signal. In addition to location, you will receive speed, heading and altitude.
