Activate Your Trimtrac Gps Unit

TrimTrac is a mobile GPS unit designed to track vehicles and other mobile objects. The small device, installed in an inconspicuous spot on a vehicle, transmits its current location coordinates with GMS networks worldwide. You can buy it from application service providers (ASP). The ASP will also provide you with the software required to help the unit function. To get this data from the network, you must have an account with an ASP or a wireless service. The provider determines how the data is configured and how you can view it.

Instructions

1. Purchase a plan with an ASP or wireless company. The TrimTrac GPS unit will not work without a wireless plan.

2. Obtain an activated SIM card. The wireless carrier will provide an activated SIM card. This SIM card is similar to the cards used with mobile phones. Open the TrimTrac and insert the activated SIM card.

3. Insert four AA batteries into the TrimTrac.

4. Insert the TrimTrac setup disc provided by the application service provider or wireless carrier into the optical drive on the computer. Follow the prompts to activate the TrimTrac using the software. Once activated, the ASP or wireless carrier will be able to provide coordinates for the TrimTrac, viewable in your web browser or by SMS text message, depending upon your service.
