Alltel has merged with Verizon Wireless, giving you greater coverage, dependable service and three prepaid plans to chose from. All it takes is one call to Verizon Wireless from your Alltell phone; the customer service representative will ask a few simple questions and in about 3 minutes your phone is activated and ready for use.
Instructions
1. Remove the back cover from the phone and locate the battery.
2. Write down the Electronic Serial Number (ESN) from the back of the battery. Replace the battery cover.
3. Charge your phone completely as you will need it to call Verizon Wireless.
4. Dial *22898 from your phone. This begins the activation process by connecting you to an automated service that will prompt you for the phone number and zip code.
5. Provide the customer service representative, who receives your call after the automated system, with the last four digits of your Social Security number. You might also be asked to choose a verbal password.
6. Choose one of the three Verizon Wireless prepaid plans. You can choose to pay by the minute, the day or the month.
7. Finish your conversation with customer service and the phone will reset itself. The whole process should take between 3 to 7 minutes.
