Connect Two Stereo Receivers To One Xm Radio

Connect two Stereos to XM Radio.

When utilizing an XM Satellite Dock & Play Radio in your home you may wish to connect the dock to two home stereos simultaneously. This can be accomplished by using a mix of audio adapters and cables. The only limitation you may encounter is the ability to reach an audio cable to the desired stereo(s) based on the placement of your XM Satellite Radio and docking station.

Instructions

1. Install a 3.5-millimeter stereo mini-plug Y adapter. This adapter will turn the single audio out port on the docking station into two ports. On the back of the Dock & Play Home Kit you will find a small audio-out port that looks similar to a headphone jack, this is where the Y adapter plugs in. Once installed, you will have two audio-out ports available on the back of the docking station.

2. Connect the first stereo to the Y adapter using a mini plug stereo cord, or mini plug to 2 RCA cord, depending on the connection required for the stereo. Connect the end of the audio cable into one of the available audio jacks on the Y adapter you installed in Step 1. Connect the other end of the audio cable into the audio-in ports on your stereo. Refer to the owners manual of the stereo for specifics.

3. Connect the second stereo to the remaining port on the Y adapter using a mini plug stereo cord, or mini plug to 2 RCA cord, depending on the connection required for the stereo. Connect the end of the audio cable into the remaining audio jack on the Y adapter you installed in Step 1. Connect the other end of the audio cable into the audio-in ports on your stereo. Refer to the owners manual of the stereo for specifics.
