Recovering and retrieving data from a SIM card does not necessarily require a using a cell phone. All you need is a SIM card reader and computer with a USB connection. Before buying a reader, make sure the specific device you are looking at is compatible with your service provider. Also, after you buy the reader, make sure the driver software is properly installed onto your computer before trying to retrieve any data.
Instructions
1. Install the SIM reader's software onto your computer.
2. Turn the phone off.
3. Remove the SIM card from the phone.
4. Insert the SIM card into the SIM card reader.
5. Insert the reader into an open USB port on your computer.
6. Open the SIM card reader's software on your computer, if it doesn't automatically pop up.
7. Retrieve the data you need.
