Make Photo Posters At Home

If you are having trouble finding posters to decorate your room, you can create your own. In fact, you can take any digital photo that you have and turn it into anything from a small poster to a super-size wall poster. You do not need any technical expertise to get started customizing your own photo poster.

Instructions

1. Open the digital photo that you want to turn into a poster in a photo-editing program, such as Adobe Photoshop. You will only be able to create a poster that is as large as the original image size because enlarging the photo is likely to cause pixelization, which is when the photo starts to look distorted and loses its crispness. If you are using a digital camera to take photos, be sure to use one with a high MP, or megapixel, output.

2. Make any edits to your photo in your photo-editing software. For example, you may want to click on the "Text" icon so that you can type something along the bottom or top of your photo before printing it out. You may also want to cut something out of the photo by clicking on the "Crop" icon from the toolbar.

3. Upload your photo online to Block Posters if you want to make a super-size wall poster. Block Posters will take your image and slice it into grids and allow you to download the results in a PDF file. For example, if you send in an image that you want split into three vertical sections and three horizontal sections they will make that a grid of nine sections total. You will get a PDF of nine pages that you can print out and piece together to make a huge wall poster.

4. Print out your photo using a color inkjet printer and some photo paper . If you have a large photo and want to make a large poster, you may need to get a large format inkjet printer, as the standard consumer printers usually have a maximum output of 8 inches by 10 inches. If you need to buy any of these items, you can usually get them from a local office supply store.
