Connect An Xm Passport Mini Tuner To The Computer

The XM Mini-Tuner is a small device that allows you to receive XM radio in your home. However, the device requires the use of an XM Ready receiver. To connect it to your computer, you must first connect the tuner to a stereo receiver or home theater system. You will then run the audio from the receiver to the computer.

Instructions

Set Up Mini-Tuner

1. Place the metal end of the XM Mini-Tuner unit into the XM Mini-Tuner Dock.

2. Press the "Power" button to turn off your XM Ready receiver. The power must be off before you connect the XM Mini-Tuner.

3. Plug the end of the tuner dock cable into the port on the back of the XM Ready receiver. There should be an "XM" label on the back of the receiver.

4. Plug the end of the XM antenna into the antenna port on the XM Mini-Tuner Dock.

5. Press the "Power" button on the XM Ready receiver to turn it on. Change the "Input" on the receiver to the XM Mini-Tuner.

6. Change the channel on the receiver to the XM Preview Channel. Move the XM antenna on the outside of a window, if possible, to maximize reception.

Connect to Computer

7. Plug the RCA end of the RCA mini jack cable into the "audio out" jacks on the back of the receiver.

8. Plug the other end of the mini jack cable into the "line in" jack on the computer's on-board audio or sound card.
